PAINESVILLE, OHIO—Lake Erie College, in coordination with NCAA Division II, will be participating in the Week of Wishes to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation from Oct. 5-14.
In an effort to raise money the Lake Erie College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be selling tickets throughout the week during lunch to participate in a “pie in the face”, with Lake Erie staff and faculty, and ducks for a “duck toss” competition to win $25 gift cards. Both events will take place at the annual Homecoming Pep Ralley in the Jerome T. Osborne Familty Athletic and Wellness Center on Friday (Oct. 12) at 8 p.m. Donations will also be collected throughout the week.
NCAA Division II is committed to helping the Make-A-Wish Foundation make wishes come true, one wish at a time. Division II has been a national sponsor of the Make-A-Wish Foundation since 2003, raising over $1.9 million to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Student-athletes, coaches, administrators, parents and fans are serving their communities and wish kids through their heart-felt fundraising efforts. Together Division II has helped to grant more than 275 wishes. But the goal line is still ahead; help the Make-A-Wish Foundation achieve its vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.
