Baseball Opening Weekend Wiped Out by Weather

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - After waiting all winter to get on the field, the Lake Erie baseball team will have to wait awhile longer. The Storm's weekend series scheduled for Feb. 20-21 at Virginia State has been canceled due to inclement weather and poor field conditions.

The teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 20) and a single game on Sunday (Feb. 21), but the recent onslaught of winter storms along the East coast created poor playing conditions.

The Storm will now open its season on Feb. 28 at St. Andrews (N.C.), which is the start of Lake Erie's spring trip through the Carolinas.
