YSPILANTI, MICH. -- Lake Erie College sophomore outfielder Aaron Lindgren was named to the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team Saturday (May 11) after finishing the season in stellar fashion during the Storm's three-game playoff run.
Lindgren batted .545 in the three games, going six-for-11 at the plate, with two doubles and a triple. He scored twice and drove in five runs, including two in the eighth inning of the Storm's 6-5 win over Saginaw Valley State University Thursday (May 9) and two in the ninth inning to tie the game and force extra innings Friday (May 10) against Ohio Dominican University.
An All-GLIAC Second Team selection following the regular season, Lindgren also drew four walks in the tournament, reaching base a total of 10 times in 15 plate appearances. He struck out just once and also stole two bases.
For the season Lindgren finished as the Storm's leading hitter with a .331 average and, despite missing the first 10 games of the season while recovering from a shoulder injury suffered during football season, also led the team in triples (4), stolen bases (8).home runs (8), runs (30), RBI (31) and slugging (.615).
