INDIANAPOLIS—The Lake Erie College baseball team dropped a pair of games to the University of Indianapolis Saturday (March 5).

The Greyhounds won game one 5-4 and game two 4-3.

GAME ONE

The Storm got on the board first, scoring two in the top of the first.  After Zac DeCamp (Gahanna, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) and Ben Szymczak (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) reached base safely, Louie Peterlin (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) brought them home with a double.

Indy added runs in the third and a sixth to tie the game at two.

In the top of the eighth, the Storm took a 4-2 lead.  Rees Rua (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst Steele) brought Jake Csizmadia (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) home.  Kody Bledsoe (Elyria, Ohio/Amherst Steele) hit Tyler Kmitt (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) across the plate to give the Storm a 4-2 lead.

However, the Greyhounds answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to pick up the win.

Peterlin ended the game with three hits and two RBI while Rua and DeCamp had two apiece.

Connor Ryan (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) had a no decision on the mound, going five innings, allowing one hit with two runs and three strikeouts.

GAME TWO

Similar to game one, the Storm got on the board first.  In the top of the third, Bledsoe singled up the middle, bringing Cale Giddings (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North/Akron) home.  Rua followed up with a groundout that inning which brought Bledsoe home.

In the top of the fourth, Nigel Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) brought DeCamp home, increasing the lead to three.  However, the Greyhounds plated four in the bottom of the fifth to take a lead.  The Storm applied some pressure late but was unable to plate another run.

DeCamp, Peterlin, Williams, Giddings and Bledsoe each had a hit.

The Storm is back in action Sunday (March 6) to conclude the four-game series with the Greyhounds.
