GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Lucas Raley of the Lake Erie College baseball team earned Third-Team All-American honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings.

Raley (Hinckley, Ohio/Medina Highland) was previously named an ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-Midwest selection earlier in the offseason to become eligible for this honor.

This honor adds to the numerous others Raley has earned for his play in 2016.  He also earned Division-II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) First-Team All-Midwest and First-Team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors as well as a nomination for the national Rawlings Gold Glove Team.

"This is quite the distinction for Luke to be named an All-American," said Storm Head Coach Brian McGee. "To get this award, you have to be backed by all of the coaches and SIDs in the region as well as the country.  You have to be the total baseball player.  They look at much more than just your offensive of numbers as they take base running, defense, etc. into choosing the most worthy of players.  The highest of honors for a college player and Luke is deserving of that."

The former GLIAC Freshman of the Year had a phenomenal season at the plate.  He batted .424 with an on-base percentage of .528 and a slugging percentage of .747. In 158 at-bats, Raley had 67 hits including 11 doubles, two triples and 12 homeruns.  He scored 54 times and drove in 39 runs.  Raley stole 12 bases and earned 28 walks.  He had 25 multi-hit and 10 multi-RBI games. The junior had a season-high six RBI against David and Elkins College. Raley had a fielding percentage of .983 with 11 assists.
