QUICK NOTES: The Lake Erie College football team opens its fourth varsity season the same as it has the last three, with a Thursday night nonconference game against regional rival Gannon University... the Storm is 0-3 all-time against the Golden Knights, but the three games have been decided by a total of just nine points (24-22 in 2008, 35-34 in 2009 and 26-20 in 2010)... this is the second meeting in Painesville, first since 2008... Lake Erie dropped its first seven a year ago before rebounding by winning three-of-its last four to finish at 3-8 overall, 3-7 in its first year in the GLIAC... Gannon, from the PSAC, has posted back-to-back 6-5 seasons... the Storm returns 48 veterans, including 11 defensive starters, 14 offensive starters and both kickers.

UP NEXT: The Storm opens conference play on the road next Saturday, Sept. 10, with the long trek to Michigan Tech University.  Kickoff against the Huskies is set for 1 p.m.
