PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The 2013 Lake Erie College football season will feature six home games at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium and a nine-game Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) slate.
The Storm (3-8, 3-7 GLIAC in 2012) will once again open the season with its traditional mid-week "Battle of Lake Erie" nonconference game against Gannon University. The contest for bragging rights of the Ship's Wheel Trophy will take place Thursday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. in Painesville.
GLIAC play begins the following week, Sept. 14, on the road at Ferris State University. The Storm returns home Sept. 21 for a 1 p.m. game against Wayne State University before closing the season's first month on the road Sept. 28 at Saginaw Valley State University.
Homecoming/Alumni Weekend will take place Oct. 5 against defending league champion Ashland University at 1 p.m., the first of two straight home games for the Storm. The next week, Oct. 12, LEC will host Notre Dame College in a nonconference game, also at 1 p.m.
The Storm is on the road the next two weeks, at Malone University in Canton, Ohio (Oct. 19) and at the University of Findlay (Oct. 26).
Lake Erie hosts Walsh University Nov. 2 and then travels to Ohio Dominican University for its penultimate regular season game Nov. 9.
The schedule comes to a close at home Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. against Tiffin University for "Senior Recognition Day."
