Green-White Spring Game Set for Saturday, April 20

PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The Lake Erie College football team will wrap up its spring practice period Saturday, April 20, with the annual Green vs. White Spring Game at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., following the inaugural Alumni Flag Football Game at noon.

The Spring Game is the final of 15 scheduled practices during the non-traditional season and provides a preview for the 2013 season.  Admission is free and fans are invited to attend the traditional postgame gathering at Harry Buffalo Painesville (2119 Mentor Ave.).

"The Green-White game is always an exciting event for the players, coaches and the fans," said head coach Mark McNellie.  "We've had a solid spring practice period with a lot of focus on team and individual drill work that has our guys headed in the right direction going into summer conditioning and then preseason practice.

The Storm posted a 3-8 record in 2012, including a 3-7 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference mark.  Lake Erie will open the 2013 season at home Thursday, Sept. 5, against rival Gannon University in the "Battle of Lake Erie/Ship's Wheel" game.
