Lake Erie Storm (2-5, 1-4 GLIAC)
at Findlay Oilers (4-3, 2-3 GLIAC)
Oct. 26, 2013 | 12 p.m. | Donnell Stadium (Findlay, Ohio)
Series: Findlay leads, 2-1
Last Meeting: Oct. 20, 2012 (Findlay won, 41-17, in Painesville, Ohio)
Four-Down Territory ...
1 - The game features two of the top running backs in DII football: LEC's Anthony Bilal and UF's Daiquone Ford have both already topped the 1,000-yard mark, and the two have combined for 28 rushing touchdowns (Bilal 15, Ford 13) on the season. Bilal needs just 18 yards to reach 2,000 for his career; over the Storm's last two games, the Painesville, Ohio, native has rambled for 414 yards and 4 TDs.
2 - Lake Erie will look to rebound from a record-setting-but-disappointing loss at Malone last Saturday. The Storm's offense cranked out a program- and GLIAC-record 833 yards in a 55-50 defeat. Quarterback Brendan Gallagher led the charge for the Green & White, going 35-of-42 and tossing six TDs en route to a 563-yard game. The senior signal caller earned offensive player of the week nods from both the GLIAC and D2Football.com.
3 - Gang Green will be looking for its first road win of the season and its first since Oct. 27, 2012. Flipping that script will mean beating an Oiler squad that is 9-4 in its last 13 games at 85-year-old Donnell Stadium.
4 - A high-scoring affair could be in the offing: Lake Erie and Findlay both rank in the nation's top-40 (of 162) in total yards, rushing yards, passing yards and third-down conversions. The are the GLIAC's top two offenses in terms of total yards.
UP NEXT: The Storm will to return to Jack Britt Stadium for a Nov. 2 home tilt against the Walsh Cavaliers. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., and the game can be heard live on ESPN 970 WFUN and the Storm Sports Radio Network.
