Storm Football to Host Intra-Squad Scrimmage

PAINESVILLE, Ohio—The Lake Erie College football team will be hosting an open intra-squad scrimmage Thursday (Aug. 28) at 7:30 p.m. at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium located in Kiwanis Recreation Park in Painesville.

The annual scrimmage is the first chance to check out the Storm this season before their opening game at Ashland University on Sept. 6.

Last year, the Storm boasted the second-best offense in the nation, averaging 551.4 yards per game.  They return several starters from last year's team.  Running back Anthony Bilal (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside), wide receiver Shane Van Fleteren (Shelby, Mich./Utica) offensive linemen Ben Miller (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) and Corbin Jackimowicz (North Fort Myers, Fla./North Fort Myers), defensive end Kyle Herth (Harrison, Ohio/LaSalle) and linebacker Tanner Wells (Carrollton, Texas/Parish Episcopal) have all earned preseason All-American honors from various organizations, including USA College Football and Football Gameplan.
