STORM AIM TO STAY UNDEFEATED IN OSBORNE CENTER: The Lake Erie College men's basketball team looks to stay undefeated at home as it takes on the Wayne State University Warriors (3-1) to open its 2011-12 GLIAC slate.  The Storm (3-1) lost in their season opener at NCAA Division I University of Detroit Mercy, 95-57 but have started a three-game winning streak with home wins against Salem International (86-77), Malone University (72-61), and their Lake Erie rivals, Mercyhurst College, (67-51).

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE STORM: Lake Erie trailed by double digits in the first half but pulled away in commanding fashion from Mercyhurst College (3-1), en route to a 67-51 victory.

Lake Erie was led by senior guard Brandon Smith with game-high tying 14 points. Following closely behind was redshirt freshman Jamil Dudley with a career-high 13 points, 11 of which came in the first half, including three three-pointers.  The Storm also got solid contributions in the post as sophomore Rich Austin went for 10 points and six rebounds while senior Matt Grendel added eight points and seven boards.

RYAN RUA NIGHT: At halftime tonight, Lake Erie will recognize former Storm baseball All-American Ryan Rua. After a spectacular three-year career which saw the Amherst, Ohio native set school records and become one of the top players in the region, Rua was drafted in the 17th round of June's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Texas Rangers. He is the first Storm player to be drafted.

SERIES NOTES: Tonight's contest is just the third time Lake Erie and Wayne State have met with both previous games coming last season. The Storm last hosted Wayne State on January 29, 2011 in which they suffered a 77-47 defeat. Center Garrick Sims led the team with 11 points and five rebounds.  Earlier that season, Lake Erie fell at Wayne State, 60-52.

OPPOSITION POSITION: Wayne State started the season with a 92-80 loss to Bellarmine University (11/17) but has since gone on a three-game winning streak. The Warriors have defeated non-conference opponents Marygrove College, Northeastern State, and Drury University.
