LAKE ERIE FACES TOUGH GLIAC NORTH FOES: The Lake Erie College men's basketball team (8-12, 3-10 GLIAC) faces a pair of difficult GLIAC road foes this weekend at it travels to Ferris State University Thursday (Feb. 9) and Grand Valley State University Saturday (Feb. 11).  The Storm snapped a seven-game losing streak by recording their largest margin of victory this season Saturday, 75-54, over Ohio Dominican University.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE STORM: Redshirt freshman Jamil Dudley had a breakout performance with a game- and career-high 24 points and sophomore center Rich Austin added his second career double-double with 17 points and a career-high 14 rebounds to help lead Lake Erie to a 75-54 victory over Ohio Dominican.

SERIES NOTES: Ferris State and Lake Erie met for the first time last season, with the Bulldogs victorious, 77-64, in Painesville on Feb. 10, 2011.  Lake Erie has faced Grand Valley State each of the last three seasons with the Lakers taking all three matchups.  The Storm nearly pulled off an upset over GVSU in their first season as a member of NCAA Division II, in 2008-09, falling 65-63 in Allendale.  The Lakers defeated Lake Erie 76-69 in Painesville last season on Feb. 12.

OPPOSITION POSITION: Ferris State (13-7, 10-3 GLIAC) enters the weekend with a 1 1/2 game lead in the GLIAC North.  The Bulldogs have won four straight contests and are 8-2 at home this season.  They are led by guard Kenny Brown scoring 15.9 ppg.  Grand Valley State (12-9, 8-6 GLIAC) is fighting for GLIAC playoff position, entering the weekend tied for seventh overall in the conference.  The Lakers are led by forward James Thomas at 14.9 ppg.

AUSTIN ALL-IN: Sophomore Rich Austin has made a huge leap after a solid freshman season. Austin is averaging 11.6 ppg. and 6.3 rpg., leading the team in both categories. He has reached double figure scoring in 12-of-20 games this season and recorded his second double-double Feb. 4 vs. ODU with 17 points and 14 rebounds. The Cleveland St. Ignatius grad averaged 6.0 ppg. as a freshman.

DUNKING DUDLEY: Don't be surprised to see a few electrifying dunks from redshirt freshman Jamil Dudley this season.  As a member of the Lake Erie track team last season, Dudley won the GLIAC Indoor Championships and was an All-American in both indoor and outdoor seasons.  Over the Summer, Dudley won the United States Junior National Championship in Eugene, Ore.  This season, Dudley has served as the sixth man for Lake Erie, averaging 6.6 ppg. and 1.8 rpg., including a game-high 24 points against ODU on Feb. 4.

CLOSING IN ON 100: With eight victories already this season, Lake Erie Head Coach Cliff Hunt is just three wins away from the 100-win plateau with a 97-86 career record in his seventh season with the Storm. He is already the all-time winningest coach in school history.
