NOTABLES: The Storm are coming off of their first loss of the season Thursday as they dropped their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener to Ferris State University, 80-74, in overtime. The Storm led at the half but Ferris State fired back to take the lead in the second. For the second straight game junior guard Riley Thomas (Cardington, Ohio/Cardington-Lincoln) hit a shot with a second left in regulation to send the game into overtime. The Storm struck first in the extra session but were unable to stop the Bulldogs from there. Thomas and Tom Parker (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) scored 18 points apiece to lead the Storm while Rich Austin (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) picked up his first double-digit rebounding game of the season as he collected 10 boards. Four-of-five starters for the Storm are shooting over 50% on the season, and as a team, is shooting 49.8% overall. Thomas, Parker, Austin, and Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) are all averaging over 10 ppg. Dudley leads the Storm with 17.0 ppg. Grand Valley State is coming off a 66-57 win in their GLIAC opener at Ashland University on Thursday. The Lakers are off to a 4-1 start this season and are riding a three-game winning streak.
