Storm Lights Up Scoreboard in 108-65 Win

PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- The Lake Erie College men's basketball team had one of their best offensive performances in recent memory, routing the Ohio Mid-Western College Rams 108-65 Tuesday night (Nov. 14). 

The visiting Rams gained the early advantage on a 7-2 run, before the Storm went on a 14-4 run to gain a 16-11 advantage. The Storm did not relinquish the lead, taking a 50-30 advantage in the half. 

Riley Thomas (Cardington, Ohio/Cardington-Lincoln) led the Storm with 12 first half points and hit three-of-five threes. Andy Bosley (Columbus, Ohio/Orange) added eight points and grabbed six rebounds. Michael Morris (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) had a pair of three pointers.The Storm shot 46.3% from the floor in the half while limiting the Rams to 37.5%. Lake Erie held a huge advantage in the tunrover column, forcing eight turnovers while only turning it over once. They also held a 22-19 advantage on the boards. 

The Storm continued to roll throughout the second half, leading by as much as 46 points en route to the win. 

Thomas ended the game with a season-high 22 points. Bosley ended the game shooting eight-of-nine from the floor for a career-high and held a share of the game-high rebounding total with eight. Nick Wells (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) netted 14 points, a season best, on seven-of-12 shooting. Garrick Sims (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) tallied 11 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Walters (Middfield, Ohio/Cardinal) had seven points, four rebounds and two blocks in the second half- all career-highs. Tom Parker (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) had a game-high six assists. 

Lake Erie outshot Ohio Mid-Western 50.6%-39.0%. The Storm held a huge advantage in the turnover department, forcing 13 while limiting themselves to three. Lake Erie held a 49-35 advantage on the boards. 

Nick McCoy led the Rams with 18 points and seven rebounds. 

The Storm returns home Tuesday (Nov. 19), hosting West Virginia Wesleyan College.
