Thomas Named GLIAC South Division Player of the Week

BAY CITY, Mich.—Senior guard Riley Thomas (Cardington, Ohio/Cardington-Lincoln) has been named GLIAC Men's Basketball South Division Player of the Week for his performance against Malone University and Walsh University this past weekend.

Thomas led the Storm with 58 points over two games as the Storm picked up wins over Malone and Walsh.

Against Malone on Thursday (Jan. 16), Thomas scored a career-high 33 points to lead the Storm to a 98-93 win.  Thomas hit nine-of-18 shots from the floor, including six-of-ten three-point attempts.  At the free-throw line, Thomas went nine-of-10.  In addition his scoring, Thomas had four rebounds, two assists and a steal. 

In the Storm's 85-74 win over Walsh on Saturday (Jan. 18), Thomas scored 25 points, hitting seven-of-13 shots from the floor and had four three-pointers.  He went seven-of-eight from the charity stripe and had four steals, two rebounds, one block and an assist. 

Thomas leads the Storm in scoring with 22.4 points per game and has scored 20 or more points eleven times this season.

The Storm is back in action Thursday evening (Jan. 23) to face Hillsdale College on the road.
