HALIFAX, Nova Scotia—Former Lake Erie College basketball and high jump standout Jamil Dudley was drafted in the second round of the 2015 National Basketball League (NBL) of Canada Entry Draft by the Halifax Hurricanes.

Dudley concluded his outstanding two-sport career at Lake Erie in 2015, earning numerous honors and awards in both basketball and track and field.

In basketball, Dudley was named to the 2015 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Second-Team after a tremendous final season.  In 2014-15, Dudley led the Storm this season in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game while shooting 47.7%.  From the three-point line, Dudley shot 42.7%. Dudley scored 15 or more points in nine games.  In the Storm's first game of the season against Texas A&M-Kingsville, Dudley scored a career-high 30 points, hitting 10-of-14 shots and five-of-seven three-pointers.  Dudley also hit five three-pointers in the Storm's win at the University of Findlay. In addition to scoring, Dudley averaged four rebounds a game.  He grabbed five or more rebounds in eight games.    He had career-high nine rebounds at Northern Michigan.

For his career, Dudley appeared in 71 games, averaging 10.6 points per game.  He had a career shooting average of45.7% and averaged 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game.

In addition to his prowess on the court, Dudley was an eight-time All-American in track and field.  In 2012, he captured the NCAA Division-II National Championship in Outdoor High Jump, marking the first Division-II National Championship won by the Storm.  In 2014, he captured his second Division-II National Championship, this time in the Indoor High Jump.

The Halifax Hurricanes of Halifax, Nova Scotia is an expansion team in the NBL.  Also drafted by the Hurricanes were Greg Foster of Saginaw Valley State University, Antonio Garrett of Idaho College and Hunter Armani Cotton of Yale University.

The Hurricanes open up the season on December 26 at home against the Moncton Miracles.
