GAME NOTES

  

The Lake Erie College men's basketball team travels to Malone University before returning home for a contest against Walsh University. 

"Malone is another very tough GLIAC men's squad that boasts one of the top post players in the conference and some very hard-to-guard perimeter players," said Storm Head Coach Cliff Hunt.  "They are coming off a two point loss to Walsh, at Walsh and that alone tells you how tough they are.  Walsh is one of the teams we need to catch if we want to make the GLIAC tournament so these next two games are both tough and important."

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm erased a big second half deficit but fell in overtime to Ashland University, 87-79. Michael Morris and Trey Howard had 20 points apiece and combined for 13 rebounds.  Trey Howard also had four assists. Roy Alexander finished with 16 points with six rebounds and three steals.  Sean Howard had 10 points.  Steve Walczak had seven points and seven rebounds.  Andy Bosley had seven rebounds.  

SERIES HISTORY: The Storm is 6-3 overall against the Pioneers.  Early this season, the Storm defeated Malone 70-69.  The Against the Cavaliers, the Storm is 1-6 all-time.  They fell at North Canton earlier this season. 

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Pioneers enter the Thursday with a 4-16 overall record and a 1-14 mark in GLIAC play.  They fell to Walsh in their previous outing.  Offensively, the Pioneers are led by Nate Sheppard.  The Cavaliers face Ashland before meeting with the Storm.  The Cavaliers are 10-9 on the season with an 8-7 GLIAC mark.  They snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over Malone in their last outing. Offensively, the Cavaliers are led by Jesse Hardin Jr. 

FORECAST: The Storm is plays their final two home games of the regular season next weekend against Wayne State University and the University of Findlay.
