Three Rounds in the 70s Move Storm up to 6th Place Finish at Malone Spring Classic

PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The Lake Erie College men's golf team improved by five strokes on Saturday (April 17) and moved up one spot in the final standings to sixth at the Malone University Spring Classic at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio.
Junior C.J. Milo (Painesville, Mentor) shot a 77 for the Storm's low round of the day, giving him a two-day total of 159. Sophomore Frank Whites (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) carded a 78 and freshman Mike Guarino (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) shot a 79 to each finish in a tie for 26th place with a two-round score of 158.
Senior Steve Bragg (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) and freshman Troy Hunter (Aurora, Ohio/Crestwood) each shot a second-round 84.
As a team, the Storm finished at 323-318=641 (+65), nine shots ahead of Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and just three shots behind fifth-place Walsh University.
Host Malone won the team title with a 297-304=601. Davenport University's Kale Wasso (75-72=147) was the individual medalist.
The team will have a quick turnaround, as it heads to Tiffin University April 18-19 for the Kyle Ryman Memorial Tournament.
