Men's Golf Concludes Fall Season at Motor City Invite
DETROIT, MICH. -- The Lake Erie College men's golf team finished the fall portion of its schedule with a sixth place finish at the Wayne State University Motor City Invitational Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 22-23) at the Detroit Golf Club.
The Storm posted a two-day team score of 317-293-610 to finish 10 strokes behind fifth place Tiffin University. Ferris State University won the six-team event with a score of 303-270-573.
Freshman Jimmy Wild (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Trinity) led the way for Lake Erie with a tie for 14th place at 5-over 149. He shot a 78 in Sunday's opening round and then fired a career-low 1-under 71 on day two. That 71 was matched by senior Mike Guarino (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) on Monday. Guarino tied for 21st at 80-71-151.
Freshman Nick Bubon (Warren, Ohio/Howland) finished 25th with a 76-77-153 followed by junior Tyler Walters (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) and freshman Bart Wyss (Salem, Ohio/Salem) who tied for 32nd at 159.
