SOUTH HAVEN, MICH. -- The Lake Erie College men's golf team posted a team score of 317 Sunday (Oct. 22) for a two-day total of 632 to finish in 14th place at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Invitational at Hawkshead Golf Club in South Haven.
Freshman Ian Hardesty (Chardon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) led the Storm in the second round with a 76, giving him a 78-76-154 (+10) for the tournament. He tied for 49th individually. Senior Tyler Walters (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) slipped from a first-day 76 to an 83 in the second round to finish tied for 69th place at 159 (+15).
Saginaw Valley State University won the team title with a score of 578. Malone University's Nate Tarter was the individual medalist at 70-70-144 (-4).
Next weekend the Storm will compete at the first NCAA Midwest Regional event of the year at Harborside International near Chicago, Ill.
