Men's Golf Set For Opening Tournament

PAINESVILLE, Ohio—The Lake Erie College men's golf team is set to open their season at the Kyle Ryman Shootout this weekend (Sept. 6-7). 

The Shootout will take place at the Mowhawk Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio.  The event will be two 18 hole rounds played over two days.

The Storm returns five student-athletes from the 2013-14 squad.  Juniors Nick Bubon (Warren, Ohio/Howland), Nick Stranman (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson) and Jimmy Wild (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Trinity) and sophomores Ian Hardesty (Chardon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) and Matthew Miller (Austinburg, Ohio/Geneva) will be joined by two newcomers this year.  Last year, Hardesty led the Storm with a 79.15 average per 18 holes.  Wild was not too far behind Hardesty, averaging 80.08- second best amongst returners. 

Following this weekend's event, the Storm travels to Alliance, Ohio for the Malone University Fall Classic on Sept. 12-13.
