Lake Erie College (4-5) raced out to a 10-1 second quarter lead and never looked back in a 19-4 victory over Otterbein College (5-4) in a non-conference showdown at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in Painesville, Ohio.

The victory snapped a four-game slide for the Storm and is their first home win in four tries this season.

Lake Erie was led by a five-goal performance from freshman attacker Trevor Tarte (Amherstburg, Ontario/Kiski Prep).  The Storm got three goals from sophomore Josh Becker (Salamanca, N.Y/Salamanca) and two goals each from sophomore attackers Keegan Bal (Coquitlam, B.C/Centennial Secondary), sophomore midfielder Andrew Stockton (Medford, N.Y/Patchoque-Medford) and freshman attacker Cody Holbrook (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Orange).

Bal, Becker and sophomore midfielder Joeyjohn French (Tully, N.Y/Tully) were Lake Erie's top sharers with two assists each as Lake Erie managed 11 as a team in the game.

The Storm scored the games first five goals of the game and opened up a 10-1 lead when Tarte scored on an assist from Becker at the 4:27 mark of the second period.  Otterbein scored the games next three goals but in the final quarter and a half it was all Lake Erie, scoring the game's final nine goals.

Lake Erie took 46 shots in the game while the Cardinals had just 14.  Ground balls were a big key to the game, with the Storm holding a 61-29 advantage.

In goal, sophomore Ian Wolfe (Bridgeville, Pa./Chariters Valley) picked up the goalie's decision, making one save.

The Storm is back in action next on Friday when they travel to Long Island to face ECC foe and national power C.W. Post at 1:00 p.m.
