PAINESVILLE, OHIO – As part of a youth lacrosse outreach effort with the Storm Club booster organization, the Lake Erie College men's lacrosse game against Ohio Valley University on Wednesday night, April 18, will be played at Mentor High School's JTO Stadium. The Storm's game will follow a contest featuring the Mentor Youth Lacrosse All-Stars.

"We're very excited to have the opportunity to bring our game into the community and help continue to grow the sport of lacrosse here in Northeast Ohio," said third-year Head Coach Greg Stocks.  "Our team is really looking forward to playing this game and we hope the Mentor community is excited to have us there. Mentor Youth Lacrosse is a great organization and we are thrilled to partner with them for this event."

Gates open at 5 p.m. and admission for the evening is $3.  The Mentor Youth All-Stars will play the Mentor High School freshman team at 5:30, with the Storm and Fighting Scots taking the turf for a nonconference match at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the gate and concession sales will go to benefit the Mentor Youth Lacrosse program.

"I want to thank Coach Stocks and the Storm team for helping make this a great night for the lacrosse community in Mentor," said Rich Wilson, Advisory Board member of Mentor Youth Lacrosse and Vice Chariman of the Storm Club.  "The players and parents in our program are very excited to be able to share the field with college teams and I think a lot of people are going to be impressed with the quality of play at that level."

Now in its third-year as a varsity program, the Storm has recorded two of their three victories this season over ranked teams, including an 8-7 upset of 12th-ranked and perennial national power University of Long Island-C.W. Post last Saturday (April 7) at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in Painesville.  After the game at Mentor's JTO Stadium, Lake Erie will play its final four games at Britt Stadium.

Mentor Youth Lacrosse is a community-based effort to promote the game to young players.  Presently, the organization fields eight teams in grades 3-8.  For more information on the organization, log on to www.mentoryouthlacrosse.com.
