PERRY, N.Y. -- For the first time in his four-year history, the Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team has cracked the United StatesIntercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll rankings. The Storm is tied for 11th in the latest poll relased Monday (March 24).
Lake Erie (4-1, 1-0 ECAC) had been listed among others receiving votes for each of the previous four USILA polls before moving into the top-12 following a 9-3 win at Wheeling Jesuit University Wednesday night (March 20). The Storm is tied with Molloy College with 23 points.
Additionally, Lake Erie is ranked second in the Laxpower.com Division II Computer Rankings. Those rankings are calculated through a formula that incorporates coaches poll rankings, strength of schedule, margin of victory, quality wins and overall record among others.
The Storm is next in action Wednesday night, March 27, at Alderson-Broaddus College in an East Coast Athletic Conference Division II Lacrosse League contest.
