PERRY, N.Y. -- Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team re-entered the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches' Poll Monday (April 22), checking in at No. 12 on the Week 9 poll.
It's the second time this season the Storm (9-3, 4-2 ECAC) has been ranked. Lake Erie was tied for 11th in late March and has been listed among receiving votes for the other seven polls this season.
The Storm have won four of their last five games, including an 18-8 victory Sunday (April 20) over Rollins College on Senior Day at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium. Lake Erie is also ranked fifth regionally, trailing East Coast Athletic Conference Division II Lacrosse League rivals Mercyhurst University and Seton Hill University as well as Limestone College and Pfeiffer University. The top four teams in each region qualify for the NCAA Division II Championship tournament.
The Storm has already clinched a spot in the ECAC Division II playoffs May 3-5 at a location to be determined. Lake Erie closes the regular season this weekend with an ECAC game at Ohio Valley University Thursday, April 25, and an in-region nonconference game Sunday, April 28, at Wingate University.
