Desiderio Named ECAC II Specialist of the Week

CENTERVILLE, MASS. -- Lake Erie College men's lacrosse senior Bill Desiderio (Lancaster, N.Y./Iroquois) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Lacrosse League Specialist of the Week Monday (April 29) following his performance in a pair of games last week.

Desiderio won 34-of-53 (64.2%) faceoffs to help the 10th-ranked Storm (11-3) to two road victories. He also recorded 19 groundballs and caused two turnovers while committing just three turnovers himself. He won 18 faceoffs in a 21-3 win at Ohio Valley University Thursday (April 25) and took 16 more against Wingate University in the season finale Sunday (April 28), a 17-7 Storm win. He had nine groundballs against OVU and a career-high 10 GBs at Wingate.

On the season, Desiderio has won 58.5% of his faceoffs (179-of-306) to rank 11th nationally. 

The Storm faces eighth-ranked Seton Hill University Friday, May 3, in the ECAC Division II semifinals in Erie, Pa. at 2 p.m.
