SEMIFINALS: #13 LAKE ERIE COLLEGE vs. #12 WHEELING JESUIT UNIVERSITY

Winning team plays the winner of #4 Mercyhurst University/Seton Hill University game

Championship game is played Sunday (May 4) at noon

 

#13 STORM SET FOR ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS: The 13th-ranked Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team is set for the 2014 ECAC Championships after finishing conference play with a 6-1 record to earn the second seed.  The Storm will play third seed Wheeling Jesuit University in the semifinals.

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm fell in a close battle with fourth-ranked Meryhurst last Sunday (April 27), 5, in Erie.  Regan Harding led the Storm with two goals.

HISTORY AGAINST WHEELING JESUIT: The Storm leads the lifetime series with Wheeling Jesuit 3-2.  Earlier this season, the Storm defeated the Cardinals 15-8 in Painesville. Ryan Jurek and Trevor Tarte led the Storm with three goals apiece in the game.

HISTORY AGAINST SETON HILL UNIVERSITY: Seton Hill leads the overall series 4-2 but the Storm has won the past two meetings.  Earlier this season, the Storm defeated the Griffins 18-13 on the road.  Reagan Harding led the Storm with four goals in the game.

HISTORY AGAINST MERCYHURST: The Storm is 0-7 against the Lakers, including an 8-5 loss last week.

STORM REPORT: Reagan Harding leads the Storm with 44 points on 30 goals, 14 assists. Trevor Tarte is second on the team with 29 goals. Freshman Austin Bishop has 21 goals while Mitchell Shafer and Ryan Jurek have 18 each.  Macgregor Johnston has a team-high 17 assists while Shafer has 12.  Defensively, Justin Goodwin leads the Storm with 82 groundballs.  Adam Bakular and Justin Goodwin have combined to cause 43 turnovers. Rashad Brown has won 58.9% (139-of-236) of his faceoffs and is second on the team with 52 groundballs. Nicholas Simonetti has made 69 saves while Tom Lipomi has 49.
