Goodwin Named USILA Division-II Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year

PERRY, N.Y.—Lake Erie College men's lacrosse Justin Goodwin was named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) William C. Schmeisser Memorial Division-II Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year announced by the organization Wednesday (May 20). 

Goodwin (New Westminster, B.C./New Westminster Secondary) has earned several postseason awards, including Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Year, USILA First-Team All-American and USILA Scholar All-American.

During the 2014 season, Goodwin collected 105 groundballs and caused 53 turnovers.  He picked up seven or more groundballs eight times, including a season-high of 14 against Lindenwood University. Against Roberts Wesleyan College and Mercyhurst University, Goodwin caused six turnovers.  In addition to his defensive prowess, Goodwin scored four goals and assisted on
