Storm Report (2-5-1)
The men's soccer team extended its unbeaten string to three games with a thrilling 2-1 win over Ohio Valley on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 26) at Slattery Field. The Storm, which began the season with an 0-5 record, fell behind early in the second half to the Fighting Scots. It appeared the 1-0 lead might hold up for Ohio Valley, which out-shot Lake Erie, 18-9, including a 13-4 difference in the second half. It was 1-0 until the 85:02 mark when junior striker Scott Stucky (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) crushed a rebounded shot off the keeper's hands into the back of the net. Just 47 seconds later, Stucky struck again. He finished a Storm rush and a junior Justin Mihaley (Lowellville, Ohio/Ursuline) cross with a volley into the top of the net to send the Storm to the 2-1 win. Goalkeeper Ricky Carreira (Toronto, Ont./Dante Alighiery Academy) stopped 10 shots in the game, including eight in the second half as the Storm withstood an onslaught from the Scots.

Opponent Preview
The Walsh University Cavaliers carry a 3-4 record into Tuesday's game and have suffered three straight shutout losses. The Cavs have not scored since a 2-1 win at Grace College on Sept. 12.

The Northwood University Timberwolves currently carry a 5-3-1 record and lead the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 2-1-1 mark. The Storm, in its final year as a Division II independent, will join the GLIAC next season. Ross Aitchison leads the ‘Wolves with five of the team's 12 goals, while Matt Renouf has 37 saves in goal to lead the squad. Northwood has allowed just eight goals in nine games this season.

The Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals are currently 1-6-2 with a 0-3-1 mark in the GLIAC. The Cardinals have surrendered 24 goals on the season, while scoring only 10. The Cardinals have lost four straight and are coming off a 4-0 home defeat to Ashland University. Kevin Fox and Mackenzie Bechard have two goals apiece and Piotr Kamzmierczak has 28 saves to lead the Cardinal keepers.
