PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The statistics show an even match on the turf at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium, but it was Tiffin University (3-0-1, 1-0-1 GLIAC) scoring the game's lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Lake Erie College (2-2, 1-1 GLIAC).

The Dragons were picked first in the GLIAC preseason poll.

Tiffin won the battle of shots, 16-11, but each team put seven attempts on goal.  The Dragons had four corner kicks to the Storm's two.

In goal for Lake Erie, first team All-GLIAC junior Ricky Carreira made six saves (Toronto, Ont./Dante Alighieri Academy).

There was no scoring in the first half as both teams battled for position.  Tiffin finally broke the scoreless tie in the 60th minute when a unlucky break turned into a lucky one as Ashton Campbell's shot caromed off the post but right to Emmanuel Adjei who found the open net.  Following that, the Dragons packed in the defense with Lake Erie getting two shots on goal in the final 30 minutes.  Lake Erie had a final strong chance in the final 30 seconds but Tiffin goalie Jeremy Ashley secured a nice header from freshman Stefan Martin (Surrey, England/Averett University) to secure the Tiffin win.

The Lake Erie attack was led by junior transfer Randy Danso (Toronto, Canada/North Count Community College) and sophomore transfer Stewart Bath (Billingham, England/Averett University) with two shots on goal each.

The Storm will be back in action Wednesday when they hit the road for the first time this season to face Ashland University.
