Slippery Rock Rolls Past the Storm

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.--The Lake Erie College men's soccer team snapped its two-game winning streak in a nonconference matchup at Slippery Rock University on Tuesday (Oct. 16), falling 3-0 in Slippery Rock, Pa.

Slippery Rock's (7-3-5) Chris Davis scored two opening half goals. The first came in the 11th minute, beating Storm (4-10-0, 3-7-0 GLIAC) goalkeeper Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont./Pickering) on the far post to take a 1-0 lead. He found the back of the net once again in the 41st minute, giving Slippery Rock a 2-0 advantage. Thad Madzelonka tacked on a 69th minute goal to seal the 3-0 Slippery Rock victory.

Ljubevski made five saves in the loss.

The Rock's Clayton Master recorded three saves in the shutout, while Chris Davis ended the game with five points.

The Storm return to the pitch on Friday (Oct. 19) visiting Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Walsh University (3-9-0, 3-7-0 GLIAC) in North Canton, Ohio at 7 pm.
