Early Goal Lifts Ohio Domincan Over the Storm

COLUMBUS, Ohio—An early Ohio Dominican University goal lifted the Panthers past the Lake Erie College men's soccer team by a score of 1-0 in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match on Sunday (Oct. 21) in Columbus. The loss snapped the Storm's three-game GLIAC winning streak.

The lone goal of the match came in the seventh minute when Ohio Dominican's (10-4-1, 8-3-0 GLIAC) Justin Wheeler chipped a shot over Storm (5-11-0, 4-8-0 GLIAC) goalkeep Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont./Pickering). The Panther defense was able to limit the Storm offense, holding on for the one goal shutout.

Despite giving up the early goal, Ljubevski made five saves. Luke Hobbs (Yarm, England/Conyers School) led the Storm offense with two shots.

Ohio Dominican's Macklin Robinson collected two saves in the shutout.

The Storm return home to The Britt on Thursday, hosting nonconference opponent Seton Hill University (3-11-2) at 7 pm.
