Storm Moves Up Three Spots in NSCAA Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--  The Lake Erie College men's soccer team moved up three spots to number seven in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division-II Midwest Region Poll released Tuesday (Oct. 28).

The Storm cracked the weekly release last week at number 10.

Last weekend, the Storm picked up wins over Walsh University and Malone University, 3-1 and 1-0 respectively.  The win over Walsh clinched a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) playoff berth for the second straight year.  Alfred Majer (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) led the Storm offense with a goal and an assist in those two games, including the game winner against Malone.  Ryan Gibson (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto), Stefan Martin (Surrey, England/Greenshore) and Joseph Munaretto (Wickliffe, Ohio/Riverside) scored goals against Walsh. Nicholas Simonetti (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) picked up a clean sheet in his first career game in net for the Storm against Malone. 

The Storm is back in action at Alderson-Broaddus University Wednesday (Oct. 28) as they look for their seventh straight victory.
