Men's Soccer Opens Season Against Roberts Wesleyan (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio-The 2016 season will commence for the Lake Erie College men's soccer team on Thursday (September 1st) as they will play host to the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks. The season opener will tip off at 7:30 PM at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.

Storm Report: Second year head coach Kevin Brenner leads the Storm into the season opener after the Storm made it to the GLIAC Championship Game in 2015. Lake Erie finished the season with a 7-9-2 record after falling to Northwood in the GLIAC title game.

Preseason Rankings: Following the Storm's run to the GLIAC title game, the Storm were selected to finish fourth in the GLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Saginaw Valley State were chosen as the favorite to win the GLIAC in 2016.

Series History: The Storm and the Redhawks have never faced off in a match before.

Opposition Position: The matchup against the Storm will serve as the season opener for the Redhawks as well. The Redhawks finished the 2015 season with a 10-7-2 record after they appeared in the NCCAA Midwest Regional.

Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will travel to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania on Sunday (September 4th) to face the Rock.
