STORM WARNING: Lake Erie Looking For Spot In Championship Game

(TIFFIN, Ohio) – On Thursday, fifth-seeded Lake Erie will play in its first G-MAC Tournament semifinal game when it takes on top-seeded Tiffin at noon. The Storm are 9-5-4 overall after they took down No. 4 Ohio Dominican on Saturday. The task ahead of them won't be easy as not only are the Dragons the top seed after winning the regular season G-MAC championship, but they are also newly ranked nationally at No. 22 with a record of 13-4.

The regular season meeting between these two squads went the way of the Dragons as they overcame an early Lake Erie goal to win 5-1. Javier Borreguero put the Storm on top early with an unassisted strike just 4:51 into the contest. However Tiffin was able to equalize 11 minutes later and took the lead in the 28th minute en route to the win.

The winner will take on the victor on the opposite side of the bracket between No. 2 Cedarville and No. 3 Ohio Valley. The Yellow Jackets and Fighting Scots will do battle at 2:30 following the game between Lake Erie and Tiffin. The championship game will be played at noon on Saturday at Tiffin.
