Lake Erie's Season Comes to an End on the Road

HILLSDALE, Mich. (April 25, 2009) - Lake Erie College concluded its first year as an NCAA Division II provisional member with losses on the road to Hillsdale College, 8-1 and 7-0 Saturday afternoon.

Lake Erie posted four hits in game one - all from different players. The Storm got on the board first with one run in the third on a sacrifice fly by Lindsey Pennell (Columbus, Ohio/Westland) to score Jamie Wodecki (Northfield, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) who was on base after a single. Hillsdale put together a four-run bottom of the inning, then got four additional runs the following inning to secure the win.

In game two, Lake Erie had three hits - again all coming from different players in different innings. Hillsdale scored two runs in the first and then went on to score six more for the victory.

Lake Erie finishes the season with a 5-34 overall record as it looks to gain acceptance into Division II this June, along with membership into the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
