GLIAC Releases 2013 Preseason Coaches Poll
BAY CITY, Mich.--The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) released the 2013 Preseason Softball Coaches Poll on Wednesday (Feb. 20) with 2012 regular season champion Grand Valley State University projected to repeat as champions.
The Lake Erie College softball team finished the poll in 14th. The Storm return six letterwinners from last year and welcome eight newcomers under third-year head coach Kristin Hall.
Grand Valley State received 168 points and 12 first-place votes followed by Wayne State University with 150 points and two first-place votes. Ashland University (138), Ferris State University (137) and Tiffin University round out the top five.
The Storm open the season on March 3 against the University of Indianapolis at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimme, Fla.
