Storm Men Move Up EndlessPools/ Rankings


PAINESVILLE, OHIO--The Lake Erie College men's swimming team continues to ascend the Endless Pools/ Division II Top 25 Rankings, moving up to three spots to number 20 in this week's poll released Tuesday (Nov. 20). The men are currently ranked 24th in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division II Top 25.

The Storm men (6-1 duals, 2-0 GLIAC) dominated the Ohio Wesleyan University Corbiere/Merion Invitational this past weekend, totaling 880 points-274 points ahead of second-place University of Mount Union-to finish first in the field of six teams. The Storm broke seven pool and four school records.

Ivan Cizmar  (Zagreb, Croatia/ X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek) automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in the 200-meter backstroke with his time of 1:57.86. Julian Milinkovskyi (Zaporizhia, Ukraine/Academical Laceum of Zaporizhia), Denys Federcheno (Zaporozhye, Ukraine/Collegium of Zaporizhia No. 98) and Cizmar all had B-cut times in the 400-meter individual medley.

The men return to the pool on December 1-2 to compete in the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational.
