CSCAA Ranks Storm Men 24th in Latest Poll


PAINESVILLE, Ohio—The latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division II Top-25 Rankings released Thursday (Jan. 31) has the Lake Erie College men's swimming team pegged as 24th in the country. The Storm has been ranked in the Top 25 in four CSCAA polls this season.

The men (7-2, 2-1 GLIAC) are coming off of a 158-101 win over West Virginia Wesleyan College on Jan. 19 to conclude their regular season. Denys Fedorchenko (Zaporozhye, Ukraine/Collegium of Zaporizhia No. 98), Yan Milinkovskyi (Zaporozhye, Ukraine/Academical Laceum of Zaporizhia) and Ivan Cizmar(Zagreb, Croatia/X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek) picked up three first-place finishes apiece in the win while Nickolas Garcia (Saginaw, Mich./Saginaw), David Thieshen (Bethal Park, Pa./Bethal Park), Bryce Wood (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland), Patrick Goelz (South Park, Pa./South Park) and Jordan Krumpelman (Westerville, Ohio/St. Charles Prepatory) took second-place finishes. 

The Storm returns to the pool at the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Swimming and Diving Championship Feb. 6-9 in Canton, Ohio.
