CANTON, Ohio-- Day one of the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Swimming and Diving Championships is complete with Lake Erie College setting four school records.
Brittany Funk (Turlock, Calif./John H. Pittman) set a new Lake Erie mark in the 1000-yard freeestyle with a time of 11:11.28. Casey Wendall(Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon), Kelsey McCormick (Marysville, Mich./Marysville), Andy Armstong (Troy, Ohio/Troy) and Funk set a new school mark in the 800-yard free relay with a time of 8:23.07 while Adrienne Hallett (Wauseon, Ohio/Wauseon), Lauren Menicucci (Reno, Nev./Reno), Courtney Freed (St. George, Utah/Desert Hills) and Joelyith Humpe (Rayland, Ohio/Wheeling Central Catholic) finished the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:57.04 for a new school record.
On the men's side, Ivan Cizmar (Zagreb, Croatia/X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek), Julian Milinkovskyi (Ukraine), Yan Milinkovskyi (Zaporozhye, Ukraine/Academical Laceum of Zaporizhia) and Patrick Goelz (South Park, Pa./South Park) set a school mark in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:34.94 to take sixth place.
The Storm are back in the pool Thursday morning for a full day of events.
