PAINESVILLE, Ohio—Sophomore All-American Ivan Cizmar (Zagreb, Croatia/X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek) and junior Julian Milinkovskyi (Ukraine) will represent the Lake Erie College swimming team at the NCAA Division II National Championships at the CrossPlex Complex in Birmingham, Ala. March 6-9.
Cizmar automatically qualified for the 200-yard backstroke with his time of 1:47.41 which he hit at the Corbiere-Merion Invitational in November. At last year's National Championships, Cizmar took seventh-place in the 200-yard back and 11th in the 400-yard individual medley while also competing in the 100-yard backstroke. He will be competing in those same three events this year.
Milinkovskyi got invited to the Championships in the 200-yard IM after posting a time of 1:48.37, .01 seconds off an automatic qualifying time, at the Kenyon Total Performance Invitational in December. At last year's National Championship, Milinkovskyi finished 16th in the 200-yard breaststroke and 17th in the 200-yard IM while also competing in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 400-yard IM. He will be competing in the 200 and 400-yard IM, 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke this year.
