Rogers Breaks into Top 25 Among NCAA Leaders
PAINESVILLE, Ohio (January 26, 2009) - Lake Erie College
freshman center Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor)
is the first Storm player to break into the top 25 player rankings
among NCAA Division II leaders during the College's first year
as a DII provisional member. The first-year starter checks in at
number 25 in the category of blocks per game in the latest NCAA
Division II weekly rankings which were released this afternoon,
with an average of 2.1 per game.
In 20 games, the Storm's leader has a total of 42 shot denials, while recording multiple blocks in nine of the team's 20 games this season. She recorded a career-high of five blocks against Findlay on Nov. 25.
As a team, Lake Erie made the national rankings for the first time this season, also in the category of blocks per game. The Storm is 26th with an average of 4.3 per game. The team recently tied its season-high of nine blocks in a 68-43 win against Wooster this past Wednesday. The Storm recorded nine blocks earlier this season in a 68-54 win against Malone on Dec. 12.
