STORM RETURNS TO FLOOR FOLLOWING BREAK: Following a four-day break over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Lake Erie College women's basketball team (2-3) retuns to the home hardwood Sunday, Nov. 29, against Mansfield University (2-1).  The Storm has won two of its last three games, but is coming of an 81-59 loss Tuesday night to third-ranked California University (Pa.).  Mansfield, meanwhile, is coming off its first loss of the season, 84-76, Saturday afternoon (Nov. 28) at Notre Dame College.

LAKE ERIE ON THE AIR: Sunday's game marks the 2009-10 radio debut of Lake Erie baketball.  A total of eight games (four women and four men) will air locally on ESPN 970 WFUN and also will be streamed live online at www.lec.edu/athletics and www.espn970wfun.com.  Local radio veteran Craig Deas will call all the action.

30th SEASON OF STORM HOOPS: This is the 30th season in Lake Erie women's basketball history dating back to the 1978-79 season.  To date, the Storm has posted an overall record of 154-492 (.238).  However, nearly 27 percent of the program's all-time wins have come in the last five seasons under head coach Bob Booher.

UNFAMILIAR FOES: This is the first time that Lake Erie and Mansfield will meet on the court in women's basketball.  The Mountaineers are members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's (PSAC) eastern division.

UP NEXT: The Storm will wrap up a three-game homestand on Tuesday night, Dec. 1, against 21st-ranked Indiana (Pa.).  Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE STORM: Lake Erie trailed by just six with a little over 10 minutes to go before third-ranked Cal pulled away late for an 81-59 victory at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center.  Sophomore guard Jen Caiola (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) was the only Storm in double figures with 14 points.  Three others - guards Brittany Zele (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), Britt Busson (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) and Sarah Wojciechowski (Randolph, Ohio/Waterloo) - scored eight points apiece.

SCOUTING THE STORM:  Through five games, junior forward Alyssa Wagers (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 14.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.  She has two double-doubles on the season and also tops the squad with 12 steals.  Close behind in scoring is Caiola who is averaging 14.4 points per contest, including a career-high 23 points (six-of-10 three-pointers) last weekend against Slippery Rock. Sophomore forward Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor), who missed the Cal game with the flu, is averaging 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds while senior guard Renese Ames (Bedford, Ohio/Bedford) is averaging 8.2 points with 13 assists and 11 steals.  As a team, Lake Erie is scoring 66.4 points per game, a six-point improvement over a year ago.

MOUNTIES TO WATCH: The Mountaineers have been led by senior Mallor Hafer's 20.3 points per game and sophomore Mallory Moore, who is averaging a double-double at 14.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.  Junior Nicole Pender is the third Mansfield player in double figures at 13.0 ppg.  As a team, the Mounties are outscoring their opponents by an average of 25.7 points per game and are shooting nearly 47 percent from the floor.
