Wagers Honored by ECAC as co-Player of the Week

PAINESVILLE, OHIO - Lake Erie College junior forward Alyssa Wagers (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) has been named the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Women's Basketball co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 24.

In the Storm's first game following an 11-day break, Wagers recorded her second straight double-double to lead Lake Erie to its sixth straight win with a 77-66 home victory over Urbana University on Saturday, Jan. 23.  In the game, Wagers scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Storm (14-8) clinched just its third winning season in school history.

The double-double was Wagers' ninth this season and 22nd in her career.  She also surpassed the 700-point mark for her career in the game.

Wagers is the second Storm player to be honored by the ECAC this season.  Sophomore center Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) was named Player of the Week on Dec. 15.
