Season Tips Tuesday Night with Exhibition Contest at Ohio

PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- The Lake Erie College women's basketball team plays an exhibition game on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Division I Ohio University to open the 2011-12 season.  The Storm and Bobcats will tip-off from the Convocation Center in Athens at 7 p.m.

Lake Erie returns five starters and 12 players overall from last year's team.  The Storm is looking to improve on its 3-22 (2-17 GLIAC) record last year and return to the form that saw the squad go a school-record 18-9 in 2009-10.

This is the third time the Storm has opened a season with an exhibition game against a team from the NCAA's top division.  Lake Erie lost at Cleveland State to start the 2007-08 season and at Youngstown State tow years ago.  Additionally, the Storm has played three regular season games against DI opponents over the last two seasons. 

The 2011-12 campaign officially gets underway on Saturday night, Nov. 12, when the Storm hosts traditional nonconference rival Ursuline College at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic and Wellness Center at 7 p.m.
