PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- Following a weekend split in conference play last weekend, the Lake Erie College women's basketball team plays its final nonconference game of the season Thursday (Feb. 27) against traditional rival Notre Dame College on Senior Night. The Storm (4-20) defeated Tiffin University on Thursday, 50-43, before falling to Ohio Dominican University on Saturday, 68-58. Prior to tonight's game, the penultimate of the season, Lake Erie College will recognize senior guards Sarah Wojciechowski and Kiarra Jones for their contributions to the women's basketball program.
LIGHTNING QUICK RECAP: Despite a career day from Chloe Irish, the Storm were prevented from recording back-to-back wins by visiting Ohio Dominican. Irish set career bests with 25 points and 12 rebounds for her first career double-double, but Lake Erie was ultimately done in by a 15-0 Panthers run to close the first half.
FALCONS FLASH: After a 2-11 start, Notre Dame (12-12) went on a 10-game winning streak that was finally snapped by Cedarville University on Saturday, 82-76. The Falcons have been paced this year by senior guard Lauren Macer, averaging 18.7 points per game this season with 10 games of 20 or more.
SERIES HISTORY: Notre Dame leads the all-time series 29-9 and has won seven of the last nine meetings. However, the Storm won last year in South Euclid, 96-72, behind double-doubles from both Alyssa Wagers (23 points, 11 rebounds) and Stephanie Rogers (21, 10).
UP NEXT: The Storm hosts Ashland University in the season finale Saturday, March 2.
