Women's Basketball Named to WBCA Academic Top 25

ATLANTA—The Lake Erie College women's basketball team was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Honor Roll for their performance in the classroom during the 2015-16 season.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2015-16 season is the 21st in which the WBCA as compiled the honor rolls.

The Storm checked in at number 25 on the Division-II Top 25.  In the classroom, they achieved a team GPA of 3.517.  Eight student-athletes were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic  Excellence team.

This marks the fourth appearance in the Honor Roll for the Storm since the 2010-11 season. In the 2010-11 season, the Storm was 21st with a 3.456.  In the 2011-12, the Storm ranked third amongst all Division (I,II,III) with a 3.648.    In 2012-13, the Storm ranked 12th with a 3.511.  The Storm did not appear in the ranking for the 2013-14 nor the 2014-15 season but still had impressive GPAs of 3.444 and 3.495, respectively.
