
FINDLAY, Ohio – Lake Erie carded a ninth-place finish at the Bing-Beall Fall Classic which concluded on Monday.
The University of Findlay-hosted event was contested over Sunday and Monday at Findlay C.C. The Storm fired a four-man 36-hole score of 367-366—733 over the par-72, 5,511-yard Tom Bendelow layout.
Freshman Joan Graziano (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) paced LEC with a 20th-place finish in the nine-team tournament. The Mentor, Ohio, native carded a balanced 83-84—167 to lead the Storm. Nicole Grimmett (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) (93-92—185) and Emily Long (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) (93-95—188) backed up Graziano with 43rd- and 47th-place finishes, respectively.
Host Findlay won the event handily. The Oilers had four players notch top-6 finishes, including tournament Kasey Petty, who fired a 74-76—150 to finish tied for runner up. UF's team score was 315-302—617, with its day-two 302 being 16 strokes clear of the nearest in pursuit.
Ohio Dominican (315-326—641) placed second in the event; Walsh (330-318—648) placed third.
Walsh's Jenny Tsangeos was the Bing-Beall medalist, firing a 76 on Sunday and a 72 on Monday (148 total).
The two-day affair closed out the fall portion of Lake Erie's 2013-14 schedule.
