BAY CITY, Mich.-- Lake Erie College senior women's lacrosse player Meredith Howe (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week for her outstanding play against the University of Bridgeport and Post University last week. She joins Julia Kudla (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) as Storm players to earn the honor this season.
Howe recorded 17 points on 11 goals and six assists to lead the Storm to two wins on the week. Against the Bridgeport on Friday (March 22), the senior attack scored five goals, including the game-winning goal in the final three minutes of play on a free position shot, and one assist to lead the Storm to a 9-8 win. On Sunday (March 24) against Post, Howe recorded a game-high 11 points on six goals and five assists en route to a 20-8 Lake Erie win. On the season, Howe has 37 points and 26 goals.
The Storm is back in action this Friday for their home opener against Young Harris College at noon at the Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in Painesville.
