Storm Women's Lacrosse Named Academic Squad For Fourth Straight Year, Four Earn Honor Roll Mention

GRAND LAKE, COLO. -- Lake Erie College has once again been recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as earning IWLCA Division II Academic Squad honors for the 2013 season. Every school with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher earned Academic Squad honors, with a total of 22 teams earning the distinction. Three of the teams that participated in the NCAA Championships in 2013 were named Academic Squads. Lake Erie, which was named an IWLCA Academic Squad for the fourth straight year, is one of four teams in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to be named. Between the three NCAA Divisions, a total of 123 squads were recognized.
Additionally, four members of the 2013 Storm team were named to the individual IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for the season. Current senior Ashriel West (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) was joined by recent graduates Meredith Howe, Julia Kudla and Allison Trombetti. Ninety Division II student-athletes were among the 662 total to earn Honor Roll mention. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically.
